Inside ConToy Arena

ConToy is the center’s spacious indoor riding and competition arena. It has professional footing, lighting for evening events, and spectator seating.
The arena accommodates a wide variety of equestrian activities, including rodeos, western events, cattle work, mounted shooting, schooling, training clinics, and youth and collegiate programs. It also serves as an indoor gathering space during larger competitions held throughout the equestrian center.
Skyline Eventing includes ConToy among the four all-weather riding rings available at the facility.
Discovery Road visited the arena and equestrian center in Horse Power, which explores Sanpete County’s horse culture and the facility’s role in training, competition, and recreation.

Outdoor arenas and Skyline Eventing Park
Much of the equestrian center extends beyond ConToy Arena.
The outdoor competition area includes dressage and show-jumping facilities, a lunging area, schooling jumps, and a newer outdoor ring developed for recognized horse trials.
Adjacent Skyline Eventing Park provides more than 60 acres of cross-country terrain. Its courses include banks, ditches, water complexes, natural obstacles, and tracks for riders ranging from introductory levels through Preliminary.
Skyline Eventing was established at the Mt. Pleasant facility in 2015 and now hosts recognized horse trials, schooling events, clinics, and other competitions.
Eventing combines three disciplines, dressage, cross-country, and show jumping, into a single competition. Spectators are welcome at Skyline events, and spectator admission is free.

Stalls and rider facilities
The equestrian center has more than 200 covered and outdoor horse stalls, along with concrete-pad wash stalls and wash rack areas.
A covered warm-up barn gives riders an additional sheltered space during competitions and inclement weather. Truck and horse-trailer parking is available throughout the grounds.
For riders staying through multi-day events, the center also offers RV hookups, restrooms, showers, and a bathhouse. A concession stand and show office support major events.
City rates currently list overnight stalls at $25 per night. RV rates may vary by event, so competitors should confirm those directly with the event organizer.
The Event at Skyline
One of the major competitions held at the center is The Event at Skyline, which brings dressage, cross-country, and show-jumping competition to Mt. Pleasant.
The next recognized event and the USEA Area IX Championships are listed for September 4 through 6, 2026.
Competition schedules, entries, course maps, ride times, and stabling information are available through The Event at Skyline.

MPNHA support for the Equestrian Center
The Mormon Pioneer National Heritage Area has supported several phases of development at the Cleone Peterson Eccles Equestrian Center.
MPNHA’s FY2022 reporting lists the ConToy Arena Project as completed. Later expansion continued with additional public and local investment.
For FY2024, MPNHA reporting records the Equestrian Center Expansion Project at $66,000 in federal funding and $576,000 in matching funds, for a total project value of $642,000.
Those improvements helped expand the larger equestrian campus and its ability to accommodate competitions, recreational riders, and visitors staying for multi-day events.
Skyline Eventing also credits more than $600,000 in grants and in-kind contributions from partners including the Utah Office of Outdoor Recreation, Utah State Parks, and the Mormon Pioneer National Heritage Area toward improvements such as the covered warm-up barn, restrooms, showers, and other rider amenities.
